Interactive and engaging

The first edition of the multi-sport event, hosting 10 different European Para Championships in Rotterdam, challenged us to engage a young international audience. Supported by an innovation challenge from Sportinnovator, we explored where this audience spends their time and how we could creatively educate them about the sports and their rules. The solution was to bring the world of parasports to the perfect platform for this: Roblox.

Together with Team TOC, the tournament's organizing committee, we introduced the Paraverse: a dedicated world within Roblox where users could play a game by answering questions about various parasports. The answers could be found in different areas of the virtual arena. Completing all the questions earned users a unique badge, which also granted them access to the VIP deck. During the tournament, the Paraverse hosted Meet & Greets and Q&A sessions with participating athletes.

This initiative not only created a virtual environment centered around the event but also established a new space within the popular Roblox platform where parasports could unite and thrive.
