Open SeaWeb3 as the foundation
During the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, the KNVB aimed to bring fans closer to the team.
With the tournament taking place on the other side of the world and in a time zone unfavorable for Dutch fans, the goal was to create an activation that would both reward fan loyalty and strengthen their connection to the team.
We came up with The Oranje Beat, with Web3 as its foundation. During matches, fans could claim unique collectibles on a specially designed platform. These collectibles provided access to an exclusive content feed and served as lottery tickets for a chance to win match-worn jerseys. Over 9,000 fans collectively collected 20,000 tokens.
Not only were the tokens permanently recorded on the blockchain, but the collectibles also served as a lasting visual memento of the Oranje Lionesses’ matches.
